Alison Jackson photographs Kate and Pippa look-a-likes for London Fashion Week

At first glance it appears that Kate and Pippa Middleton have spent the day at a fashion shoot, but look again and they are just look-a-likes posing for pictures.

Gabriella Douglas and Hannah Williams were dressed as Kate and Pippa for an off-schedule show for The Rodnik Band clothing label as part of London Fashion Week.

Artist Alison Jackson, known for her fake celebrity photography, teamed up with Rodnik Band founder Philip Colbert for the launch of his latest Royal themed autumn/winter collection.

Jackson made her name in 1999 when she produced black-and-white photographs that apparently showed Princess Diana and Dodi Al-Fayed with a mixed-race love child. Since then she has gone on to depict look-a-likes of many famous faces including George W Bush and Tony Blair.

Despite her experience, she stated coming up with new ideas is not always easy: ”I am constantly trying to think of ideas and it’s very difficult, I always try and just get under the skin of what is going on in the public mind and also with this it’s very particular because they are Philip’s clothes so that was, of course Pippa and Kate are going to be out in fashion week, so of course they are going to be trying on peoples clothes and why not Philip’s?”

Gabrielle Douglas, who plays Kate Middleton in the scene, hopes her famous alter-ego is happy with the result: ”I hope she doesn’t go ‘I do not look anything like that’. Hopefully they will find it funny, it’s just a bit of fun really I’d find it quite funny if someone was taking the mick out of me or dressing up as me. It must be very bizarre for them,” she said.

As well as wearing traditional dresses the look-a-likes also changed into standout pop art style pieces typical of the label and British culture, featuring boiled eggs and a Beefeater design.
