HARD to believe Bob Katter once sported a haircut now worn by Justin Bieber.
The connection goes deeper. In the election aftermath, Katter and Bieber were both in top trending topics on Twitter worldwide. Moreover, Katter and Bieber have never been seen together.
Makes you wonder. Katter was still sporting a mop top a decade after he and some law students supposedly egged The Beatles upon their 1964 arrival in Brisbane.
Katter made the claim on ABC radio in 2004. Accomplice Tony Glynn SC, now Australian Bar Association President, would neither confirm nor deny it yesterday (thus missing his chance for eternal fame).
These days Katter fills out a 10-gallon like a Texan, but Confidential informants report he was once more Great Gatsby than Bonanza. In his salad days at uni in Brisbane, Bob went to dances in only the fanciest threads, including a scarf! That could get you killed in Mount Isa. "He was certainly very well-dressed. He cut a flamboyant figure," one who knew him said.

Two years after this pic, Katter was a Bjelke-Petersen say backbencher who wondered if a nuclear bomb could be used to blow up the Great Dividing Range and turn rivers inland to his dry electorate.
Yep, that’d do it.
