Freak Out: Skyaking v Giant George

We all love a good weird picture – but which is the strangest of the strange? Each week, we will put two of our favourite bizarre images to a public vote in a tournament to find the weirdest picture in the world. Two photos enter – only one will leave…Reigning Champion – Giant George

Winning a nail-bitingly close contest last week, Giant George – the world record holder for the title of World’s Tallest Dog – defeated Can Cat (the cat with a pet food can stuck on her head) by a single, tentative vote. Olivia of London – your choices have great power. On your words the entirely spurious fate of a silly picture on the world wide web may stand or fall. With great power comes great responsibility: use it wisely.

As you can see, Blobfish is getting used to his new home, while Can Cat has been unceremoniously dumped by the wayside. Giant George is just beginning his long journey to silly picture immortality. Can he make it through another week…?

Challenger – Skyaking

There are different ways that people have of getting their kicks. Some select snowboarding, others select driving fast cars, others select conducting drug-fuelled illicit affairs with transsexual escorts while openly discussing their high-level political career. And yet others, notably our challenger this week, select to jump out of a plane at 13,000 feet while in a kayak. That’s how Miles Daisher rolls, floating across the sky in his yellow canoe, before finally opening his parachute and landing safely in the water. Daisher states he is been ‘skyaking’ for eight years now, and has yet to die even once.

This is totally what Kathryn Bigelow should make Point Break 2 about, assuming she ever decides to make Point Break 2, which she clearly should.

Which is the weirder of the two pictures? You get to decide which one will go forward into next week’s round to face a new challenger – until we find a reigning champion of weird pictures.
