Grim reaper cat

A cat in the US can predict when people are about to die.

Tabby Oscar was adopted by the Steere House Nursing and Rehabilitation Centre in Providence, Rhode Island when he was just a kitten – and has since successfully predicted the deaths of around 50 patients.

The five-year-old animal – which is tortoiseshell and white – walks from room to room everyday.

But when he senses a resident is close to death, he jumps on the patient’s bed and lies beside him or her until their passing.

Dr. David Dorsa – who has written a book about the animal’s premonitions – stated loved-ones are pleased with the knowledge the pet can comfort their dying relatives during their final hours.

He said: “People were actually taking great comfort in this idea, that this animal was there and might be there when their loved ones eventually pass. He was there when they could not be.”
