A New Zealand student has sold her virginity for $45k.

The cash-strapped female – who auctioned off her virginity to help pay for university tuition costs – stated she’d had more than 1,200 bids but had accepted an offer of $45k to sleep with a stranger.

On her web page, the 19 year old wrote: “I have accepted an offer in excess of $45,000, which is way beyond what I dreamed. Thank you to the more than 30,000 people who viewed my ad.”

The student – who called herself “unigirl” on the site – had written that she was attractive, fit and healthy and had never been in a sexual relationship.

Bruce Pilbrow of the organisation Parents Inc stated it was “horrifically sad” the student had to sell herself to meet tuition costs.
